Review of Rick Riordan - Hero's of Olympus: Blood of Olympus Book 5

Hello Readers,

So today I'm posting the review that I did while reading Hero's of Olympus- Blood of Olympus. I have been taking to heart the idea of reading the genre that your writing in while you craft your book. It helps to stay in the genre and helps to remind you of how you should tighten up your writing as much as possible.

Sometimes we can get lazy or to relaxed.

We should all be that newbie writer that is so nervous that they are writing frantically and checking everything they had written four or five times. At least that was how I was when I first started. I have the best editor in the world, Amanda who keeps me sane and does a great job.

Now that I have shared one of my secrets with you, I'm going to share this one. I have placed my thoughts, opinions on the book below. I know they might make some eyebrows raise, but these were my honest thoughts and opinions. That is what writers and authors want to see on their reviews.

Hero's of Olympus: Blood of Olympus

Book 5- 4.5 stars

Though the Greek and Roman crew members of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen - all of them - and they're stronger than ever.

The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea's army of powerful giants? As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes, it is game over . . .

Good Points...

So I thought long and hard about trying this series as the first film was only ever okay and was scared the books would just make it worse for me. I soon found myself though enjoying the book and its many character points of view. The detail that was put into the book made it stand out and a much stronger story. The best part was the detail was placed in the right places, a very hard thing to do. 

I enjoyed getting to know the characters as they went on several adventures, quests in teams. Each one of the characters grew a little with each passing chapter. This made them fun to follow and easy to root for. A trick most authors struggle with. 

Bad Points...

For it being a Percy Jackson's 'Beginning of His Final Battle' I found myself disappointed that Percy didn't have his own part in the many characters that we followed. Each part he was in was told by a different character. This often threw me and made me slightly disappointed however I loved the emotional scenes with Jason and his father. The moment when the Gods came down to fight with their children. 

This was my only other real fault with the book was the few spelling or grammar errors that I caught within the book. I'm sure that some of you noticed them as well. Each of those were small and minor enough that it didn't destroy the story for me.
