The Sun Still Shines Linda Ford 5 Star Review

Hello Readers,

It's a New Year review which I never thought that I would do however I never got this book done in time. I planned on reading 16 novels this past year and I managed it. I have signed up for some reading groups on Goodreads so that I can keep up the reading challenges. Next year I plan on reading close to 100 books but I will be keeping my writing stuff up too.

I wonder if I can managed it?

Blurb:

Bessie wanted to live in Toronto, but it was her duty to accompany her ailing husband to live on the Alberta prairie, where it was hoped the clear air and sunshine would make him well. She was horrified at the primitive living conditions , but it was her duty to make the best of it. If she carried a heavy burden of guilt and despair, it was her duty to hide her feelings and behave like the well brought-up lady she was taught to be.

But sometimes duty is a cold comfort. Where can she find real meaning in life and a reason to carry on when her husband dies? How can she rid herself of crushing feelings of guilt? Is it possible that her big, kindly neighbor Joe Robertson has the answers? Is it possible that God cares about her? Could it be that He will grant her her heart's desire...?

How desperately Bessie want to believe that even behind the clouds of sorrow and difficulty the sun still shines...

Review:

This book by Linda Ford was a masterpiece of emotions and a twisting storyline that will stretch anyone's heart to the limits. The in depth style of betrayals, loves lost, new beginnings can't be described. You have to read this one for yourself to understand the greatness of the story.

I wish the author had allowed the story to continue instead of hurrying the ending. That's the only fault I found.

Please find the following links to the book. I had to buy it third party so you might also find yourself having to do that too.

Christmas Craving Review 4 stars

Hello All,

I'm back today after my offline writing which got me so close to the finish line that it made sick to stop. I went out adventuring today and managed to go through WH Smith where I came up with DVD of season six of Downton Abby. A pink pen and a new A4 pad of paper.

I got closed to my reading goal of 16 books before the new year. I have started a new paperback book that is surprising me more since I started to read it. I hope to share more about that book with you in the coming days.

I can safely announce that "Finding God In Hope" is all set so will do a special blog promoting the book when its out.

Christmas Cravings Kindle Edition
by Emma Hamilton

How could everything that seemed so right suddenly have gone so wrong for Mia? Snow is on the ground and Christmas lights twinkle in the German Christmas market. The warm, spiced wine is just right, but there's still one key ingredient missing from her romantic dream. Will Mia's Christmas turn out to be sugar and spice and all things nice - or a deflated soufflĂ© of loneliness and regret?

-- Christmas Cravings is a festive romance standalone episode from the Greedily Yours series.

-- About the series: Mia Maxwell loves food. She loves it so much that she's made it her career. She owns a food PR business that fills her days, and by night she's a food blogger with a burgeoning audience. With her 'Culinary Confessions of a Greedy Girl', Mia takes the reader on a delicious journey, searching for top dishes and the perfect man.

My Thoughts:

The book is the perfect read for the mad hatter Kitchen loving romance readers.

The romance was great and peril that the characters get themselves into is worth the read. However it makes you very hungry when I'm reading it and found it interesting to read. I like the partnership that is between them. From the beginning I have found the setting between Cornwall and London. I'm struggling as what else to say about the book. Despite it being an amazing book it just wasn't something i fell in love with.

NCIS Paid In Blood 5 star Review- Mel Odom

Hello Readers,

I'm slightly sad as I went to Waterstone's and got some great books but they didn't have any bookmarks. I have to thank Julie York for the love that she is sending me some bookmarks and other awesome good stuff.

I have a great contest running on the Facebook fan page. Click on the CONTEST in order to enter. I hope that you will enjoy the prizes.

When I came home and got into the NCIS: Paid In Blood. I have to say I loved it. My goal of reading 16 books for 2015. Next year I plan on reading 200 books. I will be able to track how well I do on Goodreads.

Now lets get into the review that I did for the awesome Mel Odom.

NCIS: Paid In Blood:

The death of a fellow NCIS agent in North Carolina leads Will Coburn and his special team of naval crime-scene investigators to discover a drug-and-arms smuggling ring. The investigation leads them to a U.S. military base in South Korea. When a body is stolen from a crime scene, the team discovers that their suspect is not who he seems. Nuclear weapons have gone missing, and it's a race against time as the NCIS team uncovers the true face of evil.

Review:
From the start Mel Odom creates a great atmosphere in the heart of a group of people that are going through their own tormules. I have to say the book was designed to chew fingernails and to wipe sweat from your forehead. At least that is what I did when I was reading it. I couldn't put the book down at all. I will tell you a little of what the characters go through and my thoughts on it.

Will the leader of the group is facing a hard time with his wife and his children. However his daughter becomes his beacon of light in the darkness that surrounds him. He feels truly lost and his good friend Frank is always there for him.

Frank is an older agent who fits into the team like a glove. He's smart and quick on his feet. Frank often gives advice to the team members and acts as an anchor in their rough times.

Shel is the ex Marine who works with his dog. He is a man that has come from a hard background from a farming life where the thought process hasn't go forward much. He is an expert in blood splatter patterns.

Maggie is more technology minded and has a background of wealth that comes with terms. She is using NCIS to run from her troubled home life.

Estella is a single mother who wears a lot of blame over her child's father's death. NCIS allows her to feel good and to do something good in the world.

Remy is a new member and he's a former SEAL who just wants to return to his team. He soon becomes at home with the team.

All of this and the dramatic actions that happen in the book will keep you on edge. The way that he managed to put God into the storyline blew me away. Mel Odom has become one of my new favorites.

Falling For Her- Debbie Macomber 5 Star Review

Hello All,

So today I read the book that was written by a woman who must have the series gene that I do as we both have series planned out. None of my series are half as long as hers. I read on Goodreads she is over 197 books because this was marked at 197. So here is hoping that is correct.

I'm working my way through the work that I have decided to take on for the Christmas period. Most of you know that I write during the holidays. I don't think there is a time of year that I don't write. I slow down during the summer as my hubby drags me out of the house. But saying that even then I tend to write on paper in the car. Still not allowed to take the laptop on car journeys.

Hmm....we will have to see about that.

Debbie Macomber

Debbie Macomber’s Rose Harbor series follows Jo Marie as she makes her home in Cedar Cove, running the charming Rose Harbor Inn. Now, in this original short story, available exclusively as an eBook, Macomber tells a whole new side of the story as handyman Mark Taylor grapples with his true feelings for Jo Marie.

Mark Taylor came to Cedar Cove to leave his painful past behind him, and has spent the last few years keeping mostly to himself. But when he meets Jo Marie Rose, his world is turned upside down.

She’s hired him to do carpentry projects around the inn, but for Mark, spending time with Jo Marie is a risk—to both his long-buried secrets and his carefully guarded heart.

Then one day, he breaks his leg and must turn to Jo Marie for help. And though he tries to keep his distance, Mark can’t deny how he feels drawn to Jo Marie—and how deeply he is falling for her.

Includes an excerpt from Silver Linings, the next novel in Debbie Macomber’s heartwarming Rose Harbor series.

My Thoughts:

From the beginning of this short story my mind was taken straight back to the small town just outside of San Francisco called Cedar Cove. A small town where everyone knows everyone. The ideal place to find love and have love find you. That was the feeling i got off this story only just after a couple of sentences.

Some may discover that the writing style of Debbie Macomber is strong, sweet and welcoming. Her story sucked me right into it and before I knew it I was trapped in the twists, turns of the novel. When the romance won out over the obstacles and love found its place with the couple. I have to say I was warm and fuzzy. Her style is detailed and elegant.

If your not looking for a warm welcoming story then this isn't for you. I couldn't say more good things about this series and I can't wait to dive into more of her books in the near future. She has a lot of talent and a great voice that you want to read over and over again.

A total hit with me.

The Billionaire's Pregnant Secretary 3: Forever and Always Review

Hello Readers,

As I draw closer to finishing my 5 book series I am excited that "Finding God In Hope" is about to be released and I can't wait for that moment. I have to say working on the Solstice Publishing's Faith line means the world to me. I will have more updates on me shortly but I will be busy in the beginning of the next year for sure.

Now onto the review that you all came here to read.

The Billionaire's Pregnant Secretary 3: Forever and Always
By Danielle Jamesen

Still grieving for Joey, Linda is unable to move on even though she is attracted to Samson. Samson decides to give her space but at the same time tells her in every way he can that he likes her and he wants more than a fling. Linda's friends slowly draw her out of her depression and during a dinner out, she meets Paul, who tells her that Samson loves her a lot and that she needs to be careful not to hurt him. Linda slowly stops grieving and moves on. A few months later she and Samson have lunch together and then that night have dinner before winding up at his place. One year later he proposes to her.

My Thoughts:

I started to wonder from the ending of the first book how the author would end this series with just three books and I soon learned how. She did it with grace and such a nice way that it really is the ending that Samson deserves with Linda. The pair have shared so much and how she closes out their story well its just heart warming.

I think that Danielle might have converted me and made me want to check out her next series. She got me to buy the other two books of her series which I don't normally do so quickly. Yet she managed to hook me that well.

Despite the bad reviews on this book, please make sure that you check it out. You will not be disappointed I promise you.

The Billionaire's Pregnant Secretary 2: Tension in the Workplace Kindle Edition by Danielle Jamesen 5 Star REVIEW

Hello All,

Today its finally not blowing a gale or raining. The last of Ian's presents are here and I'm nervous about whether he will like them or not. That is just me or not. I'm working on stuff for my agent and I'm working on the 5 book series still and its coming on well.

The Billionaire's Pregnant Secretary 2: Tension in the Workplace Kindle Edition by Danielle Jamesen

Linda has started working at her new job. While it is stressful, she proves to be competent and pleases Samson. However, he finds himself more and more attracted to her, even though he doesn't like relationships in the workplace. When Jane leaves on a family emergency, Linda temporarily takes over as Samson's personal assistant, making them work closer together. When Linda faints from stress and dehydration, Samson can't help his protective side from taking over. He insists on escorting her home and then ends up staying the night. They have sex. The next morning Linda feels guilty and scared and she tells Samson that it should never have happened. This leaves Samson feeling hurt as he realizes he wants to take things seriously with Linda.

Review:

Danielle Jamesen made a creative loving story between Linda and Dean. From the beginning you can see where these two are going to end up. You find yourself routing them. When she starts to feel the effects of her pregnancy she starts to become more protected by Dean which is what he needs. He has cut himself off from love for too long and now he is being made to face up to what his trust issues doing.

When the pair start to but heads with each other that it was only going to be a matter of time before they ended up in their arms. The pair have a lot more to offer to each other than they know. Only Joey's memory seems to be stopping Linda from accepting what is right in front of her. I have to say that this is a great series of short stories that she has created here. I've been pulled in enough to make me want to read the whole series. I think there is a lot of talent behind Danielle Jamesen.

Make sure that you don't miss out on this great series that she has written.

Forty Acres: A Marian Duquesne Thriller (Forty Acres A Marian Duquesne Thriller Book 1) by Jennifer Williams 5 Star Review

Hello Readers,

Today I finished "Finding God In Hope's" edits today and it felt great to get them back to Solstice Publishing. I will now return to "Blood" full time and finish the 5 books one after the other. I have to say though I'm looking forward to handing them over to Amanda for her to edit it.

Now I guess we should get over to the review that I did today for a new short story that I downloaded onto my Kindle. Your going to love it I hope just as much as I did.

Forty Acres: A Marian Duquesne Thriller (Forty Acres A Marian Duquesne Thriller Book 1) by Jennifer Williams

A Kentucky Derby horse breeding farm sitting on forty acres is home to Marian and Peter Duquesne. Marian now a widow finds solace and comfort in her horses, her flowers and a stranger. The stranger is Sebastian Babineaux a swarthy young man. His past is hidden. His future unknown. Marian finds love and lust with Sebastian. There is a mystery there she is almost sure of it.

The Review:

Widow overcomes her fears and finds herself being dragged into a love unlike anything she has ever had.

From the beginning of the short story I was pulled into the depths of Marian's story and its not long before Sebastian shows up. He's about to turn her world upside down and they fit together like they were designed to fit together. This prospect now scares her to the point she knows she can't let him go yet can't let herself give into what she is feeling.

She is about to have that decision taken out of her hands and the way that this short story is laid out is breath taking. Its a great story for a read athon. I also think its great if you are looking for a story to get you into the mood to read more books.

A White Hot Christmas 5 Star Review

Hello All.

Well today I have come close in finishing the edits of "Finding God In Hope". I love how that Faith line with Solstice Publishing is squaring up. I have to say that I love Cedar Cove even more and started to get involved more on Goodreads. I have to say though its going to take me awhile to get use to it.

Ian told me that he has done my Christmas shopping and is excited from what I can see. Tomorrow we are going to try to put up the tree. Yes we are that far behind. But when you get as wrapped up in a book that your writing as I am then its hard to want to do anything else.

Now onto the reason you all come here:

A White Hot Christmas:
By

Noel travels the world for work, only coming home for the holiday season. With so little time spent in one place, relationships are a no-go.

Dean, a firefighter with a serious disdain for the holiday season, is sent to Mistletoe, a small town that lives and breathes Christmas. To keep his holiday exposure to a minimum, Dean avoids relationships from November through January.

Will two people who are so adamant about being single be able to ignore the feelings that are heating up their Christmas season?

Review:

Bound to tear the roof of your Christmas reading list.

Noel has turned her heart off to the world around her when it come to men and she isn't about to open that door for anyone. This Christmas holiday would change everything for her and she isn't the only one that is going to find having their life turned upside down.

A scarred Dean is a fireman with a history that he can't let go of and he finds himself having those wounds healed in a short time by red head that pushes him to his limits.

The pair are exactly what you need to be reminded of love. They show what can happen through a chance encounter. I would recommend if you are looking for a quick free read that you down load this one. You will read it in one sitting and if your into reading matharons then this will get your gears moving. It will last with you for the rest of the day at least.

Endless Spring: A Contemporary Romance Novella (Four Seasons Serial Book 4) by Ginnie Carmichael 5 Star Review

Hello Readers,

While hubby tries to work out what to buy me despite me having gift wish lists. I have had endless laughs trying to get him inspired. I have been doing my edits today which has delayed my writing but I promise you that I will not back off the series. I had an awesome chat with a woman today who is a wonderful publisher so we will have to see where that leads too.

I have been watching Cedar Cove and I know that I'm the last person to catch onto big shows but that is just me. I was sad when Danielle Zwissler told me that it was cancelled. Oh well. Anyway back to what brought you here.

The reviews that I seem to be enjoying. We have over 15,000 views on here now so I'm thinking that is a good thing. Maybe not we will have to wait and see.

Endless Spring: A Contemporary Romance Novella (Four Seasons Serial Book 4) by Ginnie Carmichael

When I first got a chance to read this series I always imagine the end of the series. To me this wasn't a better ending to a wonderful series. I'm glad I had the chance to follow this series through. Its made my day the last two days. It was quick to read and with my schedule lately that has been exactly what I need. I have to say that I can't wait to see what other pieces that this author does. She will have a small part of my e-reader.

Reading the characters journeys you see them being tested at every turn and that is key to a good book. I know how hard it is to put out a good book let alone an amazing series. This woman has done it and she has made me wonder more about the United States than ever before. I have found myself falling in love with Smithfield. I have also found myself falling in love with the writing style of this author. From the beginning its hard to not be caught up in her great stories.

I have to thank her for "Four Seasons". Just don't do what I did. Buy the bundle that way you will not have to wait a second for the next one and you can just keep reading till the stories over. You will not find an easier set of books to read.

Congratulations Ginnie.

Secrets of Winter: A Contemporary Romance Novella (Four Seasons Serial Book 3) By Ginnie Carmichael Review

Hello Readers,

Will the pork chops are cooking in the oven and I'm on break from my target of doing a 5 book series in on sitting because that is the only way that its going to work is underway. I have managed to read the next book in the Ginnie Carmichael's Seasons series. I have to say that reporting on the 3rd book when I'm getting ready to read the 4th one is not making me feel the best. I need more but don't want the series to end.

I guess that is every readers nightmare and some authors dream.

Secrets of Winter: A Contemporary Romance Novella (Four Seasons Serial Book 3) By Ginnie Carmichael

After discovering the lost wedding ring of his late wife, Alex can’t handle being around Elsie anymore. He needs to find a way to open up to her again, but he will need time.

Elsie wants to be able to wait for him, but she can’t know for sure if Alex will ever come back to her. She wants him to be happy, but can’t let go yet.

Everything went so wrong for the both of them when it could have been so easy…

Review:

A love story formed in such a way that you can't resist it.

That one sentence was what I thought when I turned the last page of Secrets of Winter. The whole reveal of Sophie's mother was heart breaking and to see the pair go through something that isn't easy for anyone to go through was touching. It reminds you of how strong a parent bond can be even if they aren't biological.

If the twists with Sophie wasn't enough or the returned of the dreaded ex Jared then the moments with Alex will have your heart melting and you wishing that you could just knock their heads together. In the end the twist hits you so fast you will not see it coming. Ginne Carmichael did a wonderful job of putting together this story and preparing us for the final book of the seasons bundle. I have to say this is the best short story series that I have read in a really long time.
