Night Star- Alyson Noel Review

Hello All,

I'm back with the next book review in The Immortals Series. Its book 5 and that means I'm heading into the final book. I'm going to be very sad that this is the end of the series.

Night Star Blurb:

With 2 million copies of her "Immortals series" in print, Alyson Noel is one of the hottest paranormal teen authors writing today. "Night Star" continues the epic love story that has enchanted readers across the world. Ever and Damen must face bitter rivals, jealous friends and their own worst fears - all in the hope of being together forever. "Night Star" is guaranteed to mesmerize fans and leave them breathlessly awaiting the sixth and final book!

5/5 Stars - Review

This book really is a good reminder and tale of what happens when you let the bad sides of your personality take over. We all have that dark side that sometimes we like to indulge but what happens when we don't know when to stop that is exactly what happens to Haven. Honor herself who plays a second part to this story has a hand in facing the over all view of life at school for Ever. Even Stacia plays her role in her demise from Queen Bee.

Its poor Jude who finds himself caught up in the heart of everything again. Damen does the one thing that we will always wish our partners would do and makes and effort to be friends with him. Goes out of his way to forgive him. I'm loving all the twists and turns in this book. The way that Ever is forced to find her way for once and isn't saved. She finds her feet.

This is the perfect book to lead up to the final one in the series. You need to savor the end of this great romantic story and figure out how you want this to end before it actually does...

Dark Flame by Alyson Noel Review

Hello All,
I'm so delighted to be reviewing the fourth book in the Immortal series by Alyson Noel. I have to say that I have had a chance to start to get to know Alyson more during this journey and its been truly wonderful. I can't wait to read more of her work in the future.
Now let me introduce you to "Dark Flame" by Alyson Noel.
In Dark Flame, Alyson Noël's most darkly seductive Immortals novel yet, Ever fights for control of her body, her soul―and the timeless true love she's been chasing for centuries.
Ever is trying to help Haven transition into life as an immortal. But with Haven drunk on her new powers and acting recklessly, she poses the ultimate threat―exposing their secret world. As Ever struggles to keep the Immortals hidden, it only propels Haven closer to the enemy―Roman and his evil companions. At the same time, Ever delves deeper into dark magick to free Damen from Roman's power. But when her spell backfires, it binds her to the one guy who's hell-bent on her destruction. Now there's a strange, foreign pulse coursing through her, and no matter what she does, she can't stop thinking about Roman―and longing for his touch. Frantic to break the spell before its too late, Ever turns to Jude for help, risking everything she knows and loves to save herself―and her future with Damen…

Review: 5/5

From the out start you are wanting to scream at my book to say to Haven and Ever for being so stupid as they continue there downfall. Its also heartbreaking to see what Ever does to herself and how Haven can't see around her insecurities to see the bigger picture. Ever allowed her darkness to consume her and nearly ends everything.

There was nothing that wasn't well done. The plot was well thought out even if we knew how it was going to end we were excited to see how it would go. The characters continue to develop and the frustration is really present through out the whole story. Everything comes together and sings as you cling to every page hoping that happiness for them might be just within reach.

I can't tell you how much its worth getting the entire series!

My Love Lies Bleeding- Alyxandra Harvey Review

Hello All,

I'm stumbling today as I try to get my review out. A bad tooth never makes for a fun day.

My Love Lies Bleeding
By
Alyxandra Harvey

On Solange’s sixteenth birthday, she is going to wake up dead. As if that’s not bad enough, she also has to outwit her seven overprotective older brothers, avoid the politics involved with being the only daughter born to an ancient vampire dynasty, and elude Kieran Black—agent of an anti-vampire league who is searching for his father’s killer and is intent on staking Solange and her entire family.
Luckily she has her own secret weapon—her human best friend Lucy—who is willing to defend Solange’s right to a normal life, whether she’s being smothered by her well-intentioned brothers or abducted by a power-hungry queen. Two unlikely alliances are formed in a race to save Solange’s eternal life—Lucy and Solange’s brother Nicholas, and Solange and Kieran Black—in a dual romance that is guaranteed to jump start any romance-lover’s heart.

Even fans of the genre who’ve seen it all will find a fresh read with kick-butt characters and family dynamics that ring true for all brothers and sisters—vampire or otherwise.

Review 5/5

It took me a whole 12 hours to come up with the words that describe this book. That doe the work of Alyxandra justice. She didn't just replace the Cullens as the most have vampire family to have on the shelf she went one step further and declared a whole new world for us to fall in love with. There is ladies, there is every day girls, death, violence, moments of blooming romance and face plant ones too. There is humor and banter unlike any other book I have read lately. This is the sort of thing that is small but its well worth having.

Its the start of the journey with this family and its the start of a vampire reign that will change the course of the lives of all that live within its pages. There is so much that you can enjoy and grasp with both hands. I can't express enough how well this book whips you off your feet and takes you elsewhere. This is the book you need if your searching for the perfect vampire love story. The start to the perfect series.

I can't give this book anymore praise so pick up and give it a chance. Plus the book is cheaper than most books out there!

Chased: Paranormal Vampire Romance: The Vampire Huntress Series #1 by Ashlee Sinn

Hello All,

We have the start of a short novel series for you today and its got some nice steam attached to it. I'm sure that those of you looking for a four short series tit bit will be rushing onto Amazon the second you finish the posting.

Chased: Paranormal Vampire Romance: The Vampire Huntress Series #1
by Ashlee Sinn

Sophia Glen thought she knew who she was—a twenty-something woman with no obligations who just happened to be born a vampire hunter. Spending her nights fighting to rid the city of malevolent creatures, she has earned respect from those who decide her future. Not to mention she’s captured the heart of the sexiest hunter in her crew.

Sophia enjoys the freedom and intimate connection she has with Silas. He can give her what she needs the most, a chance to let go. Finding that Silas can free her from the urge to always be in control, she allows her desires to flourish. But what Silas will never fully understand is that only their sworn enemy can give Sophia what she truly craves.

So when Sophia is forced to work with the captivating, exotic, and irresistible Viktor Kaska, she quickly learns that the ancient vampire may be exactly what she desires. Denying her growing need to feel his fangs slip into her skin, Sophia fights the attraction and focuses on taking down the mass of uncontrollable vampires tormenting the city. But when she finds herself trapped under the spell of the very vampire who betrayed them all, her future as a hunter will be changed forever.

And so will her future with Viktor.

This is the first novella of the series at 16,000 words.

*This story contains strong sexual themes for insatiable appetites and is not recommended for readers under the age of 18.*

Review 4/5

This story had so much potential in it to do even greater things. I like the idea of the 16,000 words idea in general so I was excited to download this book. I got into it quickly, however there was disjointed sentences and a lot of time I wanted to take my pen out, edit it to make it perfect. I'm not the best editor out there.

I like the flare of erotica, the vampire touches, the attempts to make sure that the story was different than others out there. I think the idea of using a tense situation for the Vampire Hunter Sophia was well done. The construction of the plot was a great one and started to put together a series of stories that would work well as it develops further.

I think the four parts will do well and I recommend that you at least try part one to see if its something that you will be interested in.

Coming Home For Christmas - Julia Williams

Hello All,

Please find my Christmas theme novel that I'm sure will be right up a lot of people's street. I want to review this book so that we can have some fun this Christmas holidays with this book.

Coming Home For Christmas - Julia Williams

Warm, humorous and completely irresistible. All you want for Christmas is right here!
“Terrifically warm, with lovely, lively characters.” Fiona Walker
“This story warms you like a cosy cup of cocoa.” Closer
These three friends are dreading Christmas…
Cat needs to get off the ‘has-been’ heap and rescue her flagging TV career, but the demands of her extended family are reaching fever pitch and she barely has time to breathe. Meanwhile, Pippa has got too many balls to juggle as a struggling single mum trying to hang on to her family farm. And Marianne’s marriage is looking distinctly rocky now her beloved husband’s ex is back on the scene.
Happy Christmas? Forget it. But Christmas is a time for miracles, and when the villagers learn they must fight for what they love, it becomes clear that there is festive magic in the air.
Suddenly for Cat, Pippa and Marianne, it’s looking like it might just be a Christmas to remember…

Review- 5/5

This story follows a group of women who are trying to find there happy ever after. I have to say that I fell in love with all of them.

Pipa in my mind is one of the women who is tested the most with her own struggles to stop her woods being destroyed and finding her own happiness through the fog she finds herself in.

Marianne is having trouble with her partner Gabriel's
ex comes to stay. She finds herself trying to find where she fits into her home again as she starts to feel like she didn't fit in there anymore. She has to keep moving forward and that was going to prove her own way to cope till they could find each other again.

Cat has the least testing time yet it showed many traits that older women face when their children are grown and the teenage pregnancy that a lot of parents are dealing with. I have a lot of sympathy for her as she tries to adjust.

I just can't explain how wonderful this book is.

The Rural Setting Thesaurus:A Writers Guide - Angela Ackerman & Becca Puglisi

Hello All,

So we are diving into a writers study and teaching guide to get us through those times when the books not working or the words are just sounding all the same. I can't wait to give you my thought on this master piece and in the new year I will be doing some more of these to help out the inspiring writers out there. We are always learning and that is the thing about writing we shouldn't be stopping any time soon.

The Rural Setting Thesaurus: A Writer's Guide to Personal and Natural Places

Within the pages of a book exists a world drawn from a writer’s deepest imaginings, one that has the ability to pull readers in on a visceral level. But the audience’s fascination will only last if the writer can describe this vibrant realm and its inhabitants well. The setting achieves this by offering readers a unique sensory experience. So much more than stage dressing, the setting can build mood, convey meaning through symbolism, drive the plot by creating challenges that force the hero to fight for what he wants, and trigger his emotions to reveal his most intimate feelings, fears, and desires.
Inside The Rural Setting Thesaurus, you’ll find:
  • A list of the sights, smells, tastes, textures, and sounds for over 100 settings revolving around school, home, and nature
  • Possible sources of conflict for each location to help you brainstorm ways to naturally complicate matters for your characters
  • Advice on the many effective ways to build mood, helping you steer both the character’s and readers’ emotions in every scene
  • Information on how the setting directly influences the plot by acting as a tuning fork for what a character needs most and by testing his dedication to his goals
  • A tutorial on figurative language and how different descriptive techniques can bring settings alive for readers while conveying a symbolic message or deeper meaning
  • A review of the challenges that arise when writing description, as well as special considerations that apply specifically to rural and personal settings
The Rural Setting Thesaurus takes “show-don’t-tell” to new heights. It offers writers a roadmap to creating fresh setting imagery that impacts the story on multiple levels while keeping readers engaged from the first page to the last.

Review - 5/5

I was so happy when I finished reading this master piece for its what I have been searching for. It has everything I need to set up a scene and to do what I need when the words are sounding the same. I am always stuck on smells and this gave me advice on that too. I got through several of the chapters thinking to myself (how did I forget that or I should have known.)

Its exactly what we as writers and authors need to remind us of what we need to make our stories sing to our readers. I think its going to be having a special place on my desk from now on as its something that I will properly turn to on more than one occasion in the future.
