Wicked: Pretty Little Liars Review

Hello all,

I'm getting through my reading list for this month well and I hope to have more reviews up soon. Anyway here is the review that I did for Sara Shepard.

Wicked Pretty Little Liars
Book 5
By Sara Shepard

In idyllic Rosewood, four very pretty girls just can't help but be bad. . .
Hanna will stop at nothing to be Rosewood's queen bee. Spencer's digging up her family secrets. Emily can't stop thinking about her new boyfriend. And Aria approves a little too strongly of her mom's taste in men.
Now that Ali's killer is finally behind bars, the girls think they're safe. But those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it. And they should know by now that I'm always watching.

Review

This is a great book from the start to the end. I can't wait to see how the series goes and with a Perfectionists series starting soon I am even more exciting. She got into the depths of a much more complicated storyline that had you have to turn the next page to see what happens next. It's something that I believe will keep those who love YA Thriller reads. I have so much to learn and to enjoy.

Song of The Current By Sarah Tolcser Review

Hello all,

I'm diving into the depths of "Song of The Current" by Sarah Tolcser. I got this from the Bookloot box and I love that box. It introduced me to so many great things and I can't say how much I love that box crate I got. I have to say it encouraged me to get the Owl Crate box.

Song of The Current By Sarah Tolcser

Caroline Oresteia is destined for the river. Her father is a wherryman, as was her grandmother. All Caro needs is for the river god to whisper her name, and her fate is sealed. But at seventeen, Caro may be too late.
So when pirates burn ships and her father is arrested, Caro volunteers to transport mysterious cargo in exchange for his release. Secretly, Caro hopes that by piloting her own wherry, the river god will finally speak her name.
But when the cargo becomes more than Caro expected, she finds herself caught in a web of politics and lies. With much more than her father's life at stake, Caro must choose between the future she knows, and the one she could have never imagined.

This book was slow in places and made it hard for me to read. There were some pieces that made me stop feeling like this was a Louisiana book but felt slightly sad it wasn't set there. I love the whole concept of the book. I thought it was a standalone book until I saw the second one was up for sale and that ending was a happy ending for now so I wondered if the author planned another one. I was delighted to see that she had. I loved the romance story even though I feel like the book should have been a more matured book as there were scenes that were skipped over that shouldn't have been. I am so glad I read this and its a signed copy I have on my shelf. If you like sea-based books then I really recommend that you read this book.

Percy Jackson and The Lighting Thief Book Review

Dear all,

I got to go back to a God-based and themed novel with this great children's book. I can't wait to share my thoughts on it so I'm not going to waste any more time. The snow is falling outside and I can't think of anything better than to be writing this blog for you all to enjoy.

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is the first bestselling book in Rick Riordan's phenomenally successful Percy Jackson series - now with a new cover look.
Half boy. Half God. ALL Hero.
Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood. I never asked to be the son of a Greek God.

I was just a normal kid, going to school, playing basketball, skateboarding. The usual. Until I accidentally vaporized my maths teacher. Now I spend my time battling monsters and generally trying to stay alive.
This is the one where Zeus, God of the Sky, thinks I've stolen his lightning bolt - and making Zeus angry is a very bad idea.
Rick Riordan has now sold an incredible 55 million copies of his books worldwide

5/5 Stars

This is such a quick read and its different in some ways to the movie and I found myself liking the book more than the movie. That didn't surprise me. I shared this book with my partner who fell in love with it as much as I did and that goes to show the great writing style that Rick Riordan has to get two different people to fall into the depths of his story world and it to not matter where they come from. I can't say more great things about this book. Its a must read for all those who are older children who are wanting to escape into a much different world. It reminded me of a very 90s kind of book and it made me smile as it reminded me of my own childhood. Its a great book and I hope that you will get a copy if you don't already have one.

Killman Creek (Stillhouse Lake Series) By Rachel Caine Review

Hello all,

So I couldn't put this book down at all. I just fell in love over and over. I can't wait to share my thoughts with you on this another novel from Rachel Caine.

Killman Creek (Stillhouse Lake Series) By Rachel Caine
A #1 Wall Street Journal bestseller.

Her refuge at Stillhouse Lake has become a trap. Gwen leaves her children in the protective custody of a fortified, well-armed neighbor. Now, with the help of Sam Cade, brother of one of Melvin’s victims, Gwen is going hunting. She’s learned how from one of the sickest killers alive.
But what she’s up against is beyond anything she feared—a sophisticated and savage mind game calculated to destroy her. Review

This is one of the few books I wasn't able to ignore and just put out of my mind. It clung to me and it demanded my attention. I got completely lost in the danger that Gwen was living in. I understand her need to hunt rather than hide. I admire her for that. I got the sense that this wasn't the end of this story and I was excited. I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Gwen or Sam. I love how much fight the children in this book had. That I think really shows how much if I got to be a mother I would want my children to feel and believe the same things. I also have to say I just love the way that you get sucked in deeper and deeper with every page. This isn't something that you will want to miss out on. I see this book doing really well for some time to come.

Unbelievable (Pretty Little Liars #4) By Sara Shepard

Hello all,

So my addiction to thrillers and YA novels continued with me just reading this book so fast. I can't wait to share my thoughts on it.

Unbelievable (Pretty Little Liars #4) By Sara Shepard

In Rosewood, where the air smells like apples and Chanel No. 5, nothing is as it seems. Five best friends once shared everything - even their deepest, darkest secrets. Back then for Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily it was a dream come true . . . until Alison, the most beautiful of them all, suddenly vanished.
Now someone named A has turned their charmed lives into a living nightmare. With A's threats turning dangerous and Ali's killer still on the loose, the girls must uncover the truth, but will it bring an end to the horror . . . or is this just the beginning?

Review

The danger that Hanna goes through is something that makes you gulp. She and Emily really take the centre stage in this next one in the series. I find myself getting lost in the way they are searching for answers and there isn't any coming easily to them. I find that this on has a lot of breath holding moments and I love who Hanna finds comfort in. I really do. I like how we learn more about Jenna's history as well. There is just so much that is offered in this book that words aren't doing it justice about how much I loved it.

The Prince and I Karen Hawkins Review

Hello all,

I'm in the mind frame for Historical Romance's and I found myself unable to resist the work of Karen Hawkins. I'm going to share a more detailed review for her book "The Prince and I".

The Prince and I (The Oxenburg Princes Book 2)
By Karen Hawkins

From New York Times bestselling author Karen Hawkins, the lively and sizzling second book in a new fairytale-based Scottish historical romance series, The Princes of Oxenburg.

Max Romanovin, Oxenburg’s warrior prince, is escorting his grandmother to a house party deep in the Highlands when he and his entourage are robbed at sword point by a group of ruffians led by a man the locals have dubbed “The Scottish Robin Hood.” The battle-savvy prince instantly realizes there’s something different about this thief, and it’s not just the Scottish accent—it’s the fact that “he” is really a “she.”

Lady Murian, a young widow out for revenge against the powerful earl who killed her husband and stole his birthright, is now living in the woods with her family’s banished retainers. To stay alive, she and her band of men rob rich nobles coming to visit the evil earl. But when she ambushes the Prince of Oxenburg’s golden coach, she gets far more than she expected. For when the prince uncovers her true identity, she’s afraid that he might be the real thief…of her heart.

5 stars out of 5 - Review

I love how Max has this frustration with his grandmother from the start. You see the compassion that you would not expect in a hardened war hero. I love how he sees the right things to fight for and does so I also love how his men are also close friends. The leading and super fiery Scottish love interest were incredible from start to finish. There wasn't really a slow part in this book and I can't say more good things about it. I have dedicated myself to completing her series and I hope to inspire you to check it out yourself. Its a book series that highlander lovers will fall in love with and never want to put down. There is just so much that is offered in this book.
